Natural gas is billed by many, including President Obama, as “clean energy”.

But they’re wrong.

Natural gas burns cleaner than coal or oil, but drilling and producing gas – getting it out of the ground and transported to the point where it can be burned — is very dirty.

One reason it’s dirty: big oil & gas has successfully lobbied for exemptions in federal environmental law, and against adequate state oversight.

In short: drillers don’t want to be required to extract and produce gas responsibly.

That’s why we work to force big oil & gas to Do It Right.

We’re working at the federal, state and local levels to close loopholes, increase oversight, and implement model regulations to making oil & gas production as responsible as possible. Learn More
